Merry Christmas..

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!  It was a little busy with this and that but we all survived it!  We are thankful Paige had her 1st Christmas!  It was absolutely wonderful to have Christmas with our four beautiful and handsome children.  We are so blessed with many good things!  Paige just had her doctor's appointment this morning and she GAINED WEIGHT!  HURRAY!!!!!!  She gained 6 oz. so she now weighs in at 18 lbs. 6 ounces.  Her head measured in at the 95 percentile which is normal from her Glen surgery that is why we tell everyone she has the Glen Head.  She is doing good and fluid is clearing up.  Keith got to see her previous chest x-rays compared to today's and there was a big difference.  I am so thankful Keith was able to reschedule appointments for later so I could get a break from making that long ride over to St. Joseph's Hospital...good Christmas present.  We are looking forward to a great New Year with family and friends and most importantly good health!!!

Primary Program...

Today was the Harmony Park Ward Primary Program.  It was amazing!  The music is my favorite part and it always brings tears to my eyes.  What was sad is this was Shaylee's last primary program!  She will be 12 years old in April!  My little girl is growing up too fast and I mean too fast!  She gave a wonderful talk today about serving our neighbors and friends.  Rylan's part was Through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved.  Amberly's part was President Hinckley taught us to be grateful, be humble, be true, be smart and be clean.  The funniest part is when they were singing Follow the Prophet.  When they sang the part about Daniel was a prophet.  He refused to sin.  So the King threw Daniel in the lions den. Amberly did the action with her hands like a lion.  It was so funny!  I made eye contact with her primary teacher Amelia Johnson and couldn't quit laughing after that.  The Primary Presidency did an outstanding job!  I am so thankful they have these programs for the children but especially for us to realize how much our Heavenly Father loves little children.  I am so thankful for the sweet children I have and feel so blessed to be there mother.  They did a great job!

First time making Tamales...

On Friday I finally found a little time to quickly get to Sam's Club to buy a beef roast and pork roast to make Tamales Saturday with Aunt Donna.  I have always wanted to learn so I called Aunt Donna a couple weeks ago to actually plan a day to make them.  I got two roaster ovens and at 3:00 finally got all the roasts put it and cooked by 8:00.  Uncle Lamar and Aunt Donna came over to shred the meat and add the seasonings so the meat could soak up all those good flavors during the night.  When I woke up this morning my house smelt so yummy!  We started at 11:00 am and finished at 5:00 pm.  We made 12 dozen tamales and they are delicious!  I learned a lot and wore myself out!!!

That evening we went to Kirsten's (a sister-in-law) birthday luau.  We had fun visiting and drinking hot chocolate.  Keith and I wore our matching Hawaiian clothes.  Dressing up brought back lots of memories of the trips we've had to Hawaii and it made both of us want to go again...we will someday!

Rylan lost another tooth after Keith trying to use his fingers, dental floss and then the pliers.  It finally came out.  It was ready but was a little stubborn getting out.

Paige's checkup...

Paige had a checkup on Thursday with Beth.  Amberly came with me and was a huge help.  She loves the attention she gets when she goes with me.  All the nurses and doctors love her so much and really include her when they talk about Paige.  We got there at 9:00 am to check in to Radiology for Paige's chest x-ray.    When they called us back after about 15 minutes Amberly had to sit out in the waiting room with a technician while I helped hold Paige down for her chest x-ray.  As soon as I was finished we found Amberly and the technician having a great conversation about Preschool.  She told me everything they talked about while we walked to the other building for Paige's appointment.  She loves to race me to the elevators and guess which one is going to open first.  Paige's visit with Beth went well.  The fluid is still there but less.  You can tell she is starting to feel better by the way she looks and acts.  She is off oxygen and we are still trying to adjust medication to find the right balance.  She did loose weight but that is normal.  We need to get her to gain weight so the pulmonary artery band will become tighter in time as she grows.  We are going to try to add rice cereal to her portagen formula for her new diet. We will see if she likes it and if she does we hope she will gain weight!  We were in and out in time to get home by 11:30, eat lunch, gather dance clothes and backpack and get Amberly to Preschool by 12:00.  WOW!  We did it!  I even got a little time to get my personal devotional in for the day.

Paige's ride down the hill...

We had a heart stopping experience Sunday!  Keith had taken the kids outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  When he was looking the other way Amberly decided Paige would like a ride down this very steep hill at the park so she pushed her down. She was half way down before I realized what was happening. She made it to the bottom safe after ramping a ditch at the bottom. She was terrified but just fine after only one minute.
