Paige's Procedure...
Today Paige went through a very painful procedure called Pleuradesis. This is where they squirt medicine (doxycycline) into her chest tube they roll her around and put her in many uncomfortable positions to get all the spaces possible. Every place the medicine touches it becomes inflamed and irritated and then creates scar tissue which we hope seals up the leak that is coming from her thoracic duct. Paige did receive anesthesia for this procedure because it is so painful! It will take 48-72 hours to find out if the medicine worked! Until then we watch and wait patiently! We are praying so hard that the fluid stops so we can go home and come back in a couple months! Of course there will be many weekly doctor appointments in between but it's better to be home than at the hospital!

Update...
We just didn't have a very good night last night. Paige and I are very exhausted this morning. I gave her her medicine and fed her. She is now sound asleep. The team had a meeting from 7:00-9:00 am this morning to discuss Paige. Dr. Cleveland came in to talk with me this morning at 9:30 am. He said they discussed several things but the case is still unknown. She is still putting out a lot of fluid so tomorrow they will put her to sleep and put doxycycline through her chest tube to try and stop the fluid. This is very painful so she will be put under for this quick procedure. They will watch the fluid and by the end of the week if it is still draining she will then go in for surgery next week to hopefully fix her veins. It is scheduled for next week but the day unknown. He is really trying to avoid opening her back up as much as possible. If the medicine works which he is pretty confident it will then she will come home and surgery will be in December. Thank you for your love and concern for our little Paige. She is amazing! I hope we can come home soon!!!

One more day left...
I got here at 1:00 after a really busy morning trying to get caught up at home with laundry, housekeeping, schedules, love notes to my kids and bills. It feels really good to know things are done! I was so happy to see Paige! I washed my hands and started kissing her cute little chubby cheeks she gave me a great big welcome smile. It was the best. She was sitting up in bed and I had to get a picture. She needed to finish eating so while holding Paige I watched the cutest movie Letters to Juliet..."A classic Hollywood love story." It was so good! Paige seemed to like it too! She was so relaxed in my lap while I held her close! She had the biggest blow out diaper though and I really thought I was going to throw up because of the smell. It was horrible! It was everywhere including all over my clothes! I got that cleaned up and she seemed to be tired but wouldn't take a nap so we played with toys and sang some songs. She was a little fussy so I bundled her in her bed and left the room for a minute to see if she would fall asleep...she finally went to sleep! She seriously has to have it completely quiet...hmmm I wonder who she got that from??? While she was asleep I took a walk, watched the beautiful rain storm and ate delicious soup and updated my blog. I am ready for tomorrow and have prayed for strength and a clear mind that I may understand and feel piece and comfort. It is actually not in the morning it is in the afternoon. WOW going to be a long day tomorrow!
General Conference...
I loved conference!!! I know it is inspired from our Heavenly Father to have these conferences. Every 6 months it is nice to be re-boosted and reminded of the things we need to do. They were all so wonderful. It is a testimony builder of how inspired the speakers are to speak to us. Saturday's sessions were a little hard for me to listen too with the kids wanting to play but I did get to listen to bits and pieces of each talk. After the last session of Conference I loaded the kids up in the car and off we went to the hospital to see Paige and Keith. Shaylee has missed holding little Paige and so she finally had a chance to hold her. We played a quick game of Apples to Apples...it was really fun! Amberly enjoyed her movie with her ice cream and sprite while we played. The Shepherds came to the hospital after they had picked up Steve at the airport. It was fun to have them here to see Paige. I left with the kids at 7 to get them home and ready for bed. I am so thankful for Keith for allowing me to sleep at home and try to get the best rest possible. He cares about me and worries. I love him so much! Hopefully we can get some answers on Tuesday!
Dr. Jamie...I got to help with changing the dressing of her chest tube. Her pick line also needed new dressing but they did that a little later. I was happy to help! You sure do learn a lot at the bedside.

Paige...
I came home Friday night to catch up on some sleep but still didn't get as much as I wanted of course how can you when your mind is spinning. On Saturday Keith took her on a long wagon ride around the unit. She loved it. She had some special visitor's Grandma and Grandpa Bloomfield, Aunt Merilee, Uncles Kent and Rick and Shaylee and Amberly. Rylan and I stayed home to watch General Conference. I truly needed each one of those wonderful messages. I look forward to listening to them over and over again. Today she is doing good. Keith got thrown up on so he said he is wearing a hospital gown until his laundry is finished washing. She is again enjoying a fun day with her daddy in the wagon. He is so amazing! I sure wish the weather would cool off. I was really sad not to plant flowers this weekend...at least we got our Halloween decorations up. It was very fun! The kids really loved it! I don't have a camera so I will have to take some later. I am grateful for this wonderful weekend to spend time with my kids. It was great to visit with Keith's family too.

Paige...
Last night Paige had to have more blood drawn. She was poked seven times and still nothing so they poked her heal and still not a big blood flow. They had to squeeze her heal and scrap the little blood they could to get the amount they needed. Then at midnight the blood had clotted so they found a big fat vein in her forehead. My heart aches and I hate to see her go through that because I hate being poked too! At 2:30 am I fed her. I made sure she got every last drop because it was the last she could eat before her Catherization at 9 am the next morning. Right before her Catherization Friday morning her hand was completely swollen from the IV. The anestesiologist would not take her until they had blood work. Well Paige doesn't like to share her blood. They tried again to poke her but nothing was happening so in the head they went. They started the Cath at 10:15 am and they brought her back to the PCITCU at 4:30-5:00.
The kids arrived just about an hour after she got back from Cath. This is sweet Shaylee wishing so badly she could hold Paige.
Her heart rate was low from the medicine they had her on. I think it worried him when I said oh my gosh her heart rate is so low. He asked me what it was supposed to be so he watched it closely. He kept his eye on the screen and would let us know what it was every couple minutes.
Her catherization went well but they wish they had more to tell us. I went home for the the weekend. I talked to the kids quite a bit in the car about Paige and asked them several questions. They are doing good. I am thankful for them and the strength they give me. They are amazing children and Heavenly Father new I would need strong spirits to make it through hard times like this. I am truly blessed to have them in my life!
